Our 7-Point Political Program
Slogan: People's Bangladesh, Egalitarian Bangladesh
Embracing the principles of "equality, human dignity, and social justice" from the proclamation of the 1971 war of independence against colonial exploitation, and the anti-discrimination spirit of the 2024 mass uprising, we aim to build Bangladesh as a democratic, secular, and welfare state.
1. Establishing Democracy
Electoral System
- Form an independent and strong Election Commission.
- Ensure elections are free from the influence of money, muscle power, and religion.
- The Ministry of Establishment and Home Affairs will be under the Election Commission during elections.
- The Election Commission can dismiss any official for electoral negligence or bias.
- Ensure participation for expatriate voters holding Bangladeshi passports.
Parliamentary Structure
- Bicameral parliament: 300-seat directly elected Lower House and 100-seat Upper House with professional representation.
- Parties must ensure a minimum of 40% female candidates in the Lower House.
- The Upper House will elect the President.
Decentralization and Balance of Power
- Balanced decentralization of power among President, PM, Cabinet, and local government.
- Limit the tenure of the Prime Minister and President to two terms.
- Key ministries and commissions will be accountable to parliamentary committees with opposition involvement.
Local Government
- Establish strong, independent local governments free from MP influence.
- No party symbols in local elections, with a 'no vote' option and recall provision for corruption.
